Little Girls Play Make Up {A Tutorial}

Hello Loves!!

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! They seem to be going by unusually fast in these parts!

As I have mentioned to you before, Emme is as girly as they come. She LOVES anything pink, make up, playing dress up, princesses, etc. You get the pic. One of her fav things to do is watch me put on my make-up. She ALWAYS asks me if she can do "mate up." (Since she can't say her "c's" and "k's").  SO CUTE!

Soooo, when I ran across THIS wonderful tutorial over at Smashed Peas and Carrots, I knew I would be making pretend make up for the girls as soon as I had the time.

Here is what you will need:

Empty make up holders
Nail Polish

I got all of my supplies at the dollar store. I got a blush, a three pack of eye shadow, and one little eyeshadow for each girl plus a brush.

{Yes, those are my hubby's hands. I asked him to work on getting the make up out while I made some lunch. I needed a photo so I snapped one! Thanks my love!!}

Using a butter knife, remove all of the make-up from the containers. Make sure you get it all out or the nail polish wont stick.

Clean out the containers in warm soapy water and let them dry completely.

Fill up each container with a different color nail polish and let them dry COMPLETELY (It took mine about 2 days!!)

When my nail polish dried, just the inside of the tins were thickly coated but they were not "full" of nail polish. That was fine with me but if you want your make-up to look full, just keep repeating the last step until full.

I am the "it" person in our house right now thanks to this little gift. We gave it to the girls as a reward for good behavior.

My girls LOVE their new make up. Emme carries hers around in her  in her backpack, and seriously will not let it out of her sight. She sits in front of the mirror and puts it on and comes up to me and says, "Momma, how does my face look?" SO ADORABLE!!!

And now that the girls have their own make-up doesn't happen to my carpet when I let them "hold" my real make-up!!

Had to snap some photos of Em putting on her "new  mate up" :

LOVE!! <3<3<3

What a good idea! My girls would love this. A lot of times during our quiet time before bed the like to pretend to put make-up on me and attempt to braid my hair. Whenever they play pretend make-up they use oddball things, this would be a lot more fun for them!
DEFINITELY doing this!
